Busy Bee & Corsets

Sorry for not being so active here lately, but I’ve been busy as hell with studies and finishing off my internship. I’m currently trying to get a report/analysis of the period done while mentally preparing myself for the extra assignment I need to hand in to pass the paleography class. And on top of that I start working full time on Monday. Whofuckinghoo… I’m really annoyed at myself for not doing better, because I really worked hard on this. And I hate to fail at something.

But I’ll do what I always do. Bitch and moan about it for a short while, then dust myself off and get back to do my best damn work ever.

But at least I’m getting a bit creative again. Had a shoot yesterday with Natalie G Sundling, will shoot with KT Twisted photography on Friday and am fully booked next weekend with both Kitty Carol and Linda Florin. So I’ve got that game going at least. And I can finally bring out some of the things I’ve been dying to shoot for months! Including the latex set I got from Westward Bound about six months ago :3

And this baby is also coming out to play, my new darling from Viola Lahger ❀ The photo doesn’t make it justice though, the colours are a lot brighter in real life :3

2013 Chronicle

Wow, this year has really been busy! It’s had its ups and downs, but luckily, mostly ups πŸ™‚ Here’s a little chronicle over the past year’s adventures, enjoy!

January:
Finished my first semester in Archival Science and almost immediately got started on the next one. Was waayy too busy for shoots though, my head was mostly buried in books.. I did however acquire my second pair of latex gloves from All You Need Is GL<3VES ^^

February:
So much studying… But I got my shooting game back on with a lovely winter photo shoot together with KT Twisted photography.

March:This was the month that saw the light of the first publication I fixed all by myself, the second overall publication in total πŸ™‚ This was a huge milestone for me as it was in a quite well-known magazine, The Cat’s Meow Magazine. I also did some shoots with Natalie G Sundling, including an Easter themed one πŸ™‚

April:
The month of my birthday! And this month I also got to collaborate with a new latex designer, ASD Latex πŸ™‚ I did shoots with both KT Twisted photography and Natalie G Sundling, the latter one with some latex from now closed Naucler Design.

Took a small break from modelling due to the heaps of studies that needed to be finished. I also started a summer job as a registrar that would end up lasting until the end of October.

June:
I aced the second semester in Archival Science! This was also the month when I got to work with Belinda Bartzner – Photography for the first time.

July:
Had several shoots this month, including two with two new photographers: Linda Florin and Kitty Carol. I also got to work with a new makeup artist, Josephine Levander πŸ™‚ It was a wonderful summer, even though I spent most of it working.

October:
Had my third photoshoot with Belinda Bartzner – Photography. Unfortunately though, her camera got stolen and all the pictures were lost forever. So this photo is the only one that will ever be seen from it until we can get a chance to do it again..

My grandmother got out of hospital after being there for 4 months. I also started my new internship and had lots of shoots planned. Illness and stupid weather got them all canceled though so I spent most of this month working and studying.

December:
Did my second photoshoot with Kitty Carol, some lovely portraits (photo coming up soon, promise!). And I also did one of my favourite shoots all year with Natalie G Sundling and my latest pair of Black Milk leggings ❀

Talk about an interesting year.. I’ve done so many things, my life has been moving upwards and I’ve got to spend time with some really lovely people. I can only hope 2014 will be even better πŸ™‚

Summer Madness

Things are pretty slow at work right now so I’m allowing my brain to relax a bit and feel creative. Funnily enough though, I’m feeling more creative when it comes to cooking and creating recipes right now than when it comes to photoshoots. I guess it’s because I’ve gotten so many wonderful ideas these past months that I need to get them out of my system before I can come up with new ones. Soon I hope to tick some of the boxes though, since I’m waiting for an outfit and some jewellery to arrive. And I’ve also got some accessories that needs shooting.
I’m really looking forward to set some dates with photographers πŸ™‚

But speaking of outfits, I payed a visit to my corset maker, Viola Lahger, yesterday to discuss a new baby. We decided on a model and the embellishments, but we were left with that difficult question of colours. I know I want soft pastels contrasting to each other, but after that I’m stuck. So we decided that she would go fabric hunting for me and I gave her a list of colours that I like ^^ I’m confident this new piece will be wonderful and I can’t wait to shoot it in the fall πŸ™‚

And while we’re on the subject of corsets, I afterwards met up with a friend to go to a local Victorian picnic. It was great to meet so many wonderful people in gorgeous outfits, eat cakes and talk about everything and nothing. I was happy to see so many wearing lovely corsets, even though it did make me cry a bit inside to see some younger girl wear theirs not only upside down but backwards too.. I can understand that one might put on an underbust upside down – hell, I’ve done that myself a few times when not looking properly! But overbust styles? I’m sorry, but that’s really beyond me..

Anyway, I had planned for a truly epic outfit with my steampunk corset, but I ran out of time and couldn’t finish it. My plan B failed due to extreme heat, so in the end I settled for a nice basic summer goth outfit with one of my favourite corsets.

Skull Gloves & Magazine

I’ve acquired some new things these past few weeks. Both are shiny but made from different materials πŸ˜›

First off is the edition of Cat’s Meow Magazine where I have my feature. I had to have it to myself and finally I got around to order a copy.

MeCMFeature

The second thing that arrived was a new pair of latex gloves. From where? All You Need Is Gloves, of course ^^

SkullGloves

Not the best pic, I know, but there are better ones to come! I had them during a shoot with Belinda Bartzner – Photography yesterday, and I’ve got some sneak peeks for you. But you’ll have to wait a little for them ^^

I’m still hard at work, but new shoots are being planned and booked, and I’m excited to be back in the game πŸ™‚

Future Plans & Doings

I know I’m not all that good at writing contiuously here, but there are a lot of things going on right now so bear with me.

I’m working on my final paper, due in the beginning of May. It’s not a long paper, but I’ve also got another course running at the same time, so I’m bringing out all my time managent skills. At least I’m writing down things and reading at the same time. It gives me headaches, but hey, hopefully it will be worth it πŸ˜‰

Next week I’m celebrating my birthday. I’m still trying to work out what I want for birthday cakes (I always have two) and if I want to bake something else. So far I’ve decided on a yummie pavlova with lime curd and tasty fruits, some kind of chocolate cake and mini white chocolate cupcakes with a tasty frosting. I still have to decide on the frosting.

My honey is coming up to celebrate my birthday with me, and that makes me really happy πŸ™‚ I haven’t seen him for way too long..

Also, I’ll be shooting with Natalie G Sundling and Colorfulmakeups again! An outdoor shoot with pretty shiny things, it’s going to be great!

Since I’m being very busy though, I’ve had to make the decision on cutting back on all my photoshoots. I’ve only got two booked (or well, I’m trying to reschedule one to happen very soon) until the beginning of May, and that’s probably how it’s going to end up. So to the designers waiting for me to shoot stuff for them, please be a little patient with me. I’ll get to everything as soon as I can, but I need to watch over my nerves so I don’t keel over from all the stress :/

I can’t tell you what we’re going to shoot, but I can give you a hint of what will be in one of them – my darling gloves from All You Need Is Gloves ❀

New Latex & Making Plans

I’ve been suffering from a nasty cold this past week so I’ve spent most of my time sleeping on the sofa. I probably would get better a lot quicker if I din’t have lectures and such to go to, but this course I’m taking is rather difficult to grasp so I don’t have much of a choice. I’m slowly getting there though, but when you get tired just from putting on a latex skirt you realize it’s not all gone πŸ˜›

And speaking of latex skirts, I won myself a free one from Collective Chaos a while ago and yesterday I finally felt well enough to try it on properly. It’s so pretty, I really love it ^^

CCSkirtOn

Hopefully I’ll get to do some shoots with it this spring and summer, I’ve got some nice ideas for it πŸ™‚

And since we’re on the topic of ideas, I’m currently planning a couple of shoots with a bunch of photographers. Two are booked to be done in a couple of weeks and I’m really looking forward to them. By now you’ve probably realized that I love creating shoots based around a distinct theme. These two really have that, they’re both different from each other but will be equally awesome to do πŸ™‚ One is also with a new designer!

I may be stressed out over my studies, but this is just one of the things that keep me from going utterly insane πŸ˜‰

2012 Chronicle

2013 is well under way and I’ve been busy like hell with Christmas, New Year’s and schoolwork. But I thought it would be fun to entertain you with a chronicle over my past year ^^

January:
I started on a new adventure called “Studies in French” at University. It was the first time I properly touched the language since high school and, boy, did it show… But I also had some fun with a wintery shoot with my friend Josefine JΓΆnsson.

February:

Not the brightest month, I think. Lots of schoolwork to do, plus due to outer forces my honey wasn’t able to join me for Valentine’s Day. But I did start up this blog and had a great shoot with Josefine JΓΆnsson, featuring my favourite top hat from Imperial Fiddlesticks Emporium πŸ™‚

March:
This month I went to see an exhibition of Ai Weiwei, my favourite Chinese artist. I also had my first shoot with photographer Natalie G Sundling πŸ™‚

April:
The month of my birthday, even though I didn’t do much to celebrate it ^^ A new shoot with Natalie G Sundling was on the agenda, as was my very first shoot with photographer TzR. This was also the first time I met the makeup artist Colorfulmakeups and my co-model for a shoot, Starfucked. This time I got to shoot my favourite dress from Maebelle Latex ❀

May:
All the intense studying really took its toll on me so I decided to take break and not do any new shoots until the end of the spring semester. However, I had my first interview published online at the Swedish blog Skofetischist. I got to geek out a bit about philosophy and fetish fashion, which I always love ^^

June:
After a break I finally got the energy back to do shoots again and it couldn’t have started off in a better way. For a long time I’ve wanted to to a photoshoot project with some of my old LARP/roleplaying characters, and after contacting photographer KT Twisted Photography I got my chance πŸ™‚ It all turned out really well and I now only hope to continue on with the project ^^

July:
Summertime and I had two great shoots, one with a new photographer. She’s Mynumberis911 and we did a shoot featuring a new custom dress from Maebelle Latex with an Asian feel. I also got to shoot a bunch of lovely merchandise for Imperial Fiddlesticks Emporium.

August:
Attended a teaparty to watch my dear friend Tea Time perform ❀ I also added a new tattoo on my left arm and had a photoshoot together with photographer Capsicon and co-model Kya Wolfwritten.

September:
This month started off with a whole new adventure when I decided to start studying Archival Science! It was probably one of the best choices I made this whole year ^^ No photoshoots this month though, but it was still a good one.

October:
Work, work, work… Got to do a couple of shoots though with both Natalie G Sundling and Josefine JΓΆnsson. The one with Josefine I had been working on since the beginning of the year, a steampunk one, and it turned out so beautiful! I got a couple of designers on board to create custom stuff for me: Maebelle Latex, Viola Lahger and Miss Overdose.

November:
Got stressed out like hell due to the massive amount of schoolwork that got piled up on me this month. Two major projects and home exams that was going to be presented and handed in within just a few weeks of each other can really drive one mad… But I did get my first interview in fIXE Magazine published πŸ™‚

FixeMagInterview

December:
This month was my highlight, I think. I got my first proper publication with the steampunk shoot I did in October, in Kultur Mag πŸ™‚ I also had a new shoot with KT Twisted Photography, which is always much fun, celebrated Christmas and New Year’s with my honey and got a bit overstuffed with candy and sugar ^^

There you have it, my 2012 πŸ™‚ Now I’m hoping that 2013 will be awesome with lots of new opportunities ❀

Halloween & Cemeteries

It’s the end of October, which means Halloween and an abundance of Halloween themed photoshoots. It’s also right about now that cemeteries are being overly used as locations for these shoots.

Don’t get me wrong, I love cemeteries, always have, and have done some shoots in one. I love the feeling of mystique and serenity they give, the calmness as well as the sense of there being something more to life than what we see and know. But I do have one rule, and that’s that I never do any kind of shoots in cemeteries around Halloween.
There is a quite simple reason for this. Here in Sweden we have begun to celebrate Halloween on the 31st of October with parties and such, but the more traditional way is to go to the cemeteries on the first Saturday of November and light candles on the graves of our loved ones. Of course, I respect the dead but the holiday in itself would not be a good enough reason for me to not shoot in cemeteries. No, for me it goes a lot deeper. I can never feel comfortable shooting in cemeteries during this time of year because two dear relatives have past away close to Halloween/All Hallow’s Eve. In 2001, on November 2nd, my grandfather (on my father’s side) past away, and on November 7th last year, I lost my grandmother (on my mother’s side). I was very close to them both and even though they left this world with several years in between it still hurts. And it hurts even more around this time of year.

Hence why I never ever do cemetery shoots around Halloween.

But this is getting to be a very sad post. Let’s spice it up with a holiday appropriate photo, shall we?

Here’s from me, my vampire alter ego Miss Marie and KT Twisted Photography: Happy Halloween, my darlings! ❀

Keep the Sanity!

Things are about to get really stressful now..

Next week I’ve got two doctor’s appointment that will decide how this winter’s medical treatments are going to be scheduled. There’s UVB light treatment for my skin and allergy vaccinations to prepare for the pollen season next spring. So there’s nothing seriously wrong with me, but these are things that have to be done if I’ll make it through this winter all right – and have a decent pollen defense next year.

I wouldn’t be all that bothered with it if it wasn’t also for the fact that I have two college courses that run parallel to each other – with one huge project and two home exams to finish them off. There’s going to be a lot of issues trying to fit all the schedules together, and with that comes a mounting feeling of stress and to not have any time. I don’t like that, it’s not good for me.

Stress increases the risk of running into that all too familiar brick wall, and I certainly don’t have any time for that!

That’s the reason why I haven’t been crazy with booking and planning shoots. I do have some stuff planned, so don’t worry about that, but I’m not stressing anything. Being creative in front of the camera is wonderful fun, but I have to make priorities and right now my health has to come first. Without that I can’t function and nothing good will come out of it.

Be patient, I will be back with awesomeness ❀

A Little Change

There’s been a little change in my life. As of today I can proudly call myself a student of Archival Science πŸ™‚ It’s going to be a nice addition to my Masters Degree in Aesthetics, not to mention the fact that it’s something that will actually help me get a job that I want. I don’t know if I know what I want to specialize in, but considering my other interests I think culture and literature is close at hand.

Since I’m now moving from part-time to full-time studies, this means that photoshoots will primarly be booked on weekends. It’s going to be nice to do all my creative things on weekends, then I can concentrate on my studies during the week and then relax. I’ve got some new things coming up so you better keep your eyes open! πŸ™‚

And to reward myself a bit, I’m spending the rest of the afternoon looking at pretty high heels that want ^^

I wouldn’t say no to these ❀
